CONVEYING ROLL FOR CONTINUOUS ANNEALING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To extend the life of a titled roll and to prevent the deterioration in the quality of the product to be conveyed by said roll by providing through-holes for feeding and discharging of cooling water communicating with the cooling water passage provided to the center of a copper alloy roll body to the roll shafts projected from both ends of said roll body. CONSTITUTION:This conveying roll for a continuous annealing furnace is constituted by fixing roll shafts 4 to a wear resistant copper alloy roll body 8 provided with a cooling water passage 7 at the center in such a way that the passage 7 is communicated with through-holes 3 for feeding and discharging of cooling water. The rate of supplying the cooling water is adequately adjusted through the holes 3, by which the optimum heat balance between the body 8 and a product 6 to be conveyed (annealed material) in contact with said body is maintained.
