PURPOSE:To minimize errors in the analysis generated in a biocatalytic electrode by covering a biocatalytic membrane with a conductive membrane permeating the material to be measured to remove the substance obstructing the analysis. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 2 of Pt or the like as conductive nonsoluble material is fixed at the tip of a holder 1 made of an insulating material such as plastics and a biocatalytic membrane 3 such as enzyme membrane is provided on the outside thereof 2. The outside of the membrane 3 is covered with a conductive membrne 4 which is permeable to the material to be measured, for example, glucose by evaporating a conductive material such as Pt on the membrane by sputtering to obtain a biocatalytic electrode 9. In an analyzer with the biocatalytic electrode 9, the conductive film 4 is connected to a reference electrode 11 through a DC power source 13. When a substance obstructing analysis (reducing substance such as ascorbic acid and uric acid) in the measurement of glucose is in a sample liquid 5a, the electrode is oxidized by the membrane 4 to make an oxide free from oxidation with the substrate 2. Thus, an accurate analysis is achieved for a short space of time without requiring an operation of removing the obstructing substance in the material being measured beforehand. |
