PURPOSE:To confirm the connection of a data telephone or a facsimile FAX without depending upon a HOST by adding a means for transmitting test data for the data telephone or/and FAX to an audio response unit itself and transmitting a test pattern or the like when they are connected. CONSTITUTION:An audio response unit 1 is provided with a data telephone output control part 14, an FAX output control part 15, and a test function control part 16. When a data telephone 4 or an FAX 5a is connected, a control part 10 transmits test data from the test function control part 16 before transmitting a printing signal or a picture signal and confirms matching between originating and terminating subscriber sides. Thus, matching of device types is confirmed before the HOST is started. |
