PURPOSE:To increase the weathering resistance markedly, by adding an UV absorber, a light stabilizer and a specified organophosphorus compound to a composition comprising a polyolefin and an inorganic filler. CONSTITUTION:To a composition comprising 100pts.wt. polyolefin and 1-100pts. wt. inorganic filler, 0.01-0.5pt.wt. benzotriazole or benzophenone UV absorber, 0.01-1pt.wt. hindered amine or phenyl benzoate light stabilizer and 0.01-1pt.wt. organophosphorus compound of formula I or II (wherein R1 and R2, which may be different from each other, are 1-18C alkyls and n is 0-3). As the compounds of formula I, tetrakis(2,4-di-t-butylphenyl)-4,4'-biphenylene diphosphonite is preferable. An example of the compound of formula II is bis(2,4' di-t-butylphenyl)pentaerythritol diphosphonite. The effect of the above mixture is particularly marked for polypropylene. |
