摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a four-wheel-drive vehicle from becoming difficult to move upon falling of a wheel, by actuating a front and rear wheel differential mechanism 7 in the direction of inhibiting its differential function when the difference in rotation between the front wheels and rear wheels of the four-wheel-drive vehicle is large. CONSTITUTION:A front and rear wheel differential mechanism 7 is arranged in the midsection of the body of a four-wheel-drive vehicle so that the difference in rotational speed between the front wheels 25 and rear wheels 26 may be absorbed. When the difference in rotation speed between the wheels exceeds a predetermined value, which is determined in accordance with a signal from first rotational speed detecting means 12a, 12b for detecting the rotational speeds of the front wheels 25 and a signal from second rotational speed detecting means 17a, 17b for detecting rotational speeds of the rear wheels 16, and as well when no differential operation of a front and rear differential control means 16 in the direction of inhibiting its differential function is detected by a detecting means 31, a differential function inhibiting means 32 delivers a signal to a solenoid 23 to frictionally engage a hydraulic multiple-disc clutch 29.
