PURPOSE:To obtain a stable roll profile by detecting conditions of heat transfer between a roll and a roll chock by a detecting device, thereby controlling a flow rate of a coolant. CONSTITUTION:The temp. of the roll 1 and the temp. of the roll chock 2 are detected by a roll temp. sensor 6 and a bearing temp. sensor 7 respectively and these detected values are inputted to a calculator 8. Furthermore, a detected value by a strip type detector 9 is inputted to the calculator 8. Based on these data, the heat transfer amount between the roll 1 and roll chock 2 and an existing crown are calculated by the calculator 8. This calculated value is fedback to a flow rate control valve 5 to control the flow rate of coolant and to control the roll profile of the roll 1 on the optimum conditions. In this way, local heat deformations of the roll 1 are restrained in minimum and the stable roll profile is obtained corresponding to the conditions. |
