PURPOSE:The titled composition which has excellent flame retardancy, a good balance among high-frequency bondability, heat resistance, solvent resistance, and water resistance and undergoes little changes in these properties with the lapse of time or due to thermal hysteresis, prepared by crosslinking a vinylidene chloride resin with a crosslinking monomer of a sepcified composition. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition prepared by adding 0.05-8wt% crosslinking monomer having at least two vinyl groups in the molecule, e.g., di(meth) acrylate, to a mixture of 20-95wt% vinylidene chloride and 5-80wt% monomer copolymerizable therewith, e.g., methyl (meth)acrylate, and polymerizing and crosslinking the resulting monomer mixture. Although a conventional vinylidene chloride resin composition is excellent in properties such as flame retardancy, high-frequency sensitivity, solvent resistance, and water resistance, it has drawbacks such as poor heat resistance and poor high-frequency bondability. Crosslinking with the above crosslinking monomer makes it possible to obtain a polymer which is excellent in high-frequency bondability, and resistance to heat, water or solvent as well as excellent in flame retardancy which is an inherent merit, and undergoes little changes in these properties with the lapse of time or due to thermal hysteresis.
