PURPOSE:To automatize the grooving work of a tire completely by making the cutting edge ready according to the set value of the first step automatically while it is controlled automatically according to the set value of the second step for grooving. CONSTITUTION:In the setting process (a), a tire T is mounted on a rim of a holding base 7 and a specified air pressure applied thereto. In the fixing process (b), the tire T is fixed at a given position of rotation with a brake 9. In the preparation process (c), mechanisms (2a-2g) are actuated according to the set value (program) of the first step to move a cutting edge 14 to the point of starting the grooving of the tire T. In the grooving process (d), a cutting edge contact detection sensor detects the contact of the cutting edge 14 with the tire T and at the same time, the mechanisms (2a-2g) are operated according to the set value (program) of the second step with this contact position as origin to perform a grooving radially controlling the cutting edge 14 at each position. After the grooving is repeated in the repetition process (e), the tire T is removed from the rim of the holding base 7 in the resetting process (f). |
