PURPOSE:To obtain distillation efficiency as designed, by probing the surface of vibrating liquid in a hollow body from the outside of the hollow body by an ultrasonic wave probe, capturing the change in a reflected wave, detecting the liquid level, thereby measuring the liquid level in a downcomer part, and grasping the state of the inside. CONSTITUTION:A probe piece B1 of an ultrasonic wave probe B is moved up and down along the outer wall surface of a distilling column and ultrasonic probing is performed. The pattern of the reflected wave appeared on a CRT B2 is identified, and the liquid level in each downcomer part A2 is detected. The ultrasonic wave probe B is constituted of the following parts: a transmitting part B3, which generates high voltage electric pulses and sends them to the probe B1; the probe piece B1, which converts electric pulse into an ultrasonic wave by a vibrator and converts the reflected wave into a voltage; an amplifier part B5, which amplifies the voltage generated in a vibrator based on the reflected wave; an attenuator (sensitivity adjuster) B6, which converts the received voltage into the size suitable for the CRT B2; a receiving part B4 comprising the amplifier part B5 and the attenuator B6; the CRT B2, which displays the voltage from the receiving part B4 on a vertical axis and the voltage from a time axis part B7 on a horizontal axis; and the like. |
