PURPOSE:To obtain a button-type air cell having a constant quality by preventing any evaporation of water from electrolyte as well as any contamination of the cell with carbon dioxide gas by performing ageing at a humidity almost equal to the equilibrium humidity of the electrolyte and under a circumstance free from carbon dioxide and sealing an air supply hole with a seal tape only after inspection of the cell is finished. CONSTITUTION:After ageing is performed at a humidity almost equal to the equilibrium humidity of electrolyte and under a circumstance free from carbon dioxide, the air supply hole 5 of a battery case 4 is sealed with a seal tape 10. For example, when electrolyte of about 30wt% potassium hydroxide concentration is used which has an equilibrium humidity of about 70%, the ageing circumstance is adjusted to have a humidity of 70%. In this case, the equilibrium humidity can be easily found by measuring change in the weight of the cell. Next, in order to realize a circumstance containing no carbon dioxide, nitrogen gas is charged into a battery ageing circumstance before ageing is carried out for about 100hr, then the air supply hole 5 is sealed with the seal tape 10 after the ageing is completed. |
