PURPOSE:To attain read/write of information instantly by providing a control circuit outputting the final one pulse with a signal from a peak value detecting circuit after pulses less than a prescribed number by one pulse is outputted to minimize the vibration of a magnetic head at positioning. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 13 sets a numeral (n) inputted from a signal line 14 to an internal subtraction counter, (n-1)-set of step pulses are being outputted in a prescribed pulse rate, the circuit 13 becomes in the standby state to the final pulse and outputs the n-th step pulse after the magnetic head 3 is stopped first during the standy of the control circuit 13. Since the control circuit 13 outputs the (n-1)-th pulse and outputs the n-th pulse when the pulse signal falls down first after the standby state, a stepping motor 8 is turned further by one track's share. As a result, the amplitude of the attenuating oscillation on the n-th track is brought into a minimized amplitude and the magnetic head 3 is positioned on the objective n-th track in the shortest time suitably. |
