<p>1-(2,4-Dichlorphenoxy)(3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamino)propanol (I) (as the racemate or in optically active form) and its esters and acid addition salts are new. - The new cpd. and its derivs. selectively block adrenergic beta-1 receptors and at the same time stimulate the beta-2 receptors. They exert antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, cardioprotective and central effects and can be used for the therapy and prophylaxis of pectoris, myocardial infarct, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmicas, hyperkinetic heart syndrome, hyperthyreoses, migraines, Parkinsonism etc. Details and results of pharmacological tests are given in the specification.
