PURPOSE:To manufacture continuous or partically continuous bent flaky metallic granules at a low cost by cutting V-shaped grooves in the peripheral surface of a rotating roll for cooling. CONSTITUTION:Many V-shaped grooves 2 are cut in the peripheral surface of a rotating roll 1 for cooling in a direction crossing the rotating direction. Molten metal 3 in a crucible 4 is injected on the roll 1 from the nozzle 5 of by introducing gas into the crucible 4 from the gas inlet 6 under pressure. The injected molten metal 3 is solidified by rapid cooling to form continuous or partially continuous flakes 11 on the surface of the roll 1. The flakes 11 are stripped from the roll 1 by a jet of gas from a nozzle 8, and they are gathered in a recovering case 9.
