The invention relates to a flange joint for thin-walled pipes. Around the extreme end of the pipe (1) to be joined is arranged a combined sealing and stopping means (6), behind said means (6) a retaining ring comprising a helical spring (4) filled with balls (5) or the like, and behind the retaining ring a clamping flange (3) provided with a shoulder (7) for engagement with the retaining ring (4). The shoulder (7) of the flange is dimensioned so that, when the flange is tightened, the shoulder presses the retaining ring into the pipe so as to deform the pipe wall and form a groove for holding the retaining ring (4). <IMAGE> |
