PURPOSE:To obtain the proper sound quality in accordance with each tape speed by having an interlocking operation between a tape driving motor circuit and a tone control volume provided to an amplifier circuit of the reproduced tape signal. CONSTITUTION:When a tape speed control volume VR1 is varied, the total resistance combined with resistances R1 and R3 and the volume VR1 is varied to change the tape speed. While a sound quality control circuit which is connected between an equalizer amplifier 3 and a low frequency amplifier 4 and usually attenuates a high band also changes a high band if a tone control volume VR2 is varied in response to the volume VR1. The positions of the volumes VR1 and VR2 or the constant of a capacitor C1 are set respectively so as to obtain the sound quality corresponding to the tape speed changed by the volume VR1.
