<p>An apparatus is described for detoxifying liquids containing oxidisable organic and/or inorganic substances using hydrogen peroxide with simultaneous recovery of the heavy metals contained therein, which apparatus ensures simple and reliable running of the process and leads to a filtrate which can be admitted directly into an outfall or the drains without monitoring. The apparatus comprises a reaction vessel having a ventilator, stirrer and outlet, a metering device composed of a metering pump and a vacuum-tight hydrogen peroxide vessel, a filtration element composed of a filter insert and filtration vessel, and transport elements, connection pipes and an electronic control, the filtrate being admitted via a nozzle to a water jet pump and a second water jet pump enabling an overflow tank to be emptied and ensuring reliable feed of hydrogen peroxide.</p> |
