In the case of a vacuum-operated brake booster with a booster piston (19) sealed off by a rolling diaphragm (18) from the booster housing (7, 22) and a piston rod (14) coupled to a brake pedal for the operation of a bell-shaped valve (11, 9 and 11, 12), by means of which a working chamber (20) of the brake booster can be connected either to a partial vacuum or a higher differential pressure, in which a first valve (11, 12) is formed by a valve seat (12) on the booster piston (19) and a disc valve (1) preloaded in the direction of the valve seat (11) and a second valve (9, 11) is formed by the same disc valve (1) and a valve piston (16, 9) connected to the piston rod (14), a first control housing section (2), which is carried on a second control housing section (4), is provided for the purpose of reducing the dead travel, a U-shaped spring ring (17) held by the second control housing section (4) engaging in a collar (13) corresponding to the spring ring (17), in the first control housing section (2) and by means of a stop surface (3) on the collar (13) limiting the relative movement of the two control housing sections (2, 4) towards one another. In the starting position the second control housing section (4) bears by means of a circular flange (28) on a fixed sealing ring (5) held by the housing (7), whilst the disc valve (1) strikes on a stop (8) of the collar (36) of the second control housing (4) with its sealing flange. <IMAGE>
