The invention relates to double-acting free wheel differentials in which, on a bend, the outer, faster wheel is switched off. According to the invention the play which is necessary for the neutral position but otherwise unwelcome is reduced by virtue of the design. For this purpose the clamping blocks are exactly positioned in circular guides and radially pressed in by means of spring force. On all-wheel drive vehicles the inter-axle differential can be dispensed with if this free wheel differential on the rear axle is combined with a simple free wheel on the front axle.
