<p>PURPOSE:To dimerize and codimerize the titled compound rapidly in high yield, by using a catalyst obtained by incorporating an organoaluminum halide with a specific polyol compound, and adding a nickel compound to the resultant catalyst precursor. CONSTITUTION:A lower monoolefin is dimerized and codimerized in the presence of a catalyst obtained by incorporating (A) an organoaluminum halide with (B) at least one polyol compound selected from fatty acids and cycloaliphatic and aromatic polyols, and adding (C) at least one nickel compound selected from organic acid salts, inorganic acid salts and complex compounds to the resultant catalyst precursor. Thus, the above-mentioned reaction is rapidly and stably carried out in a high conversion. The amount of the component (B) to be used is 2mol or less, preferably 0.01-1mol based on one mole component (A).</p> |
