PURPOSE:To make it possible to automatically feed a wire electrode, by providing such an arrangement that the function in which a predetermined tension necessary for machining is given to the wire electrode is effected and a tension mechanism which may remove the above-mentioned function as it is necessary is laid. CONSTITUTION:A roller mechanism 22 is composed of a pair of wire electrode feed pulleys 24 provided with reverse rotation preventing mechanisms 29 and a clamp pulley 26. Further, an electrode guide 72 for slidably supporting a wire electrode 38 is fitted in the lower end of a pipe guide 36. Further more, a clamp mechanism 42 which may support and secure the guide 36 in a predetermined position is attached to the lower end of a guide 14. Next an electromagnetic clutch 83 and a roller 81 are adapted to exert tension necessary for machining to the electrode 38, and therefore, the electromagnetic clutch 83 is energized only during machining so that the tension is applied to the electrode 38. However, the above-mentioned function is removed in cases other than the above- mentioned case, to enhance the reliability of the automatic feed of the electrode 38. |
