发明名称 METHOD FOR DRIVING A PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL
摘要 A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to enhance controllability of a discharge by adjusting wall voltages before an address discharge. During an address preparing period(TR), first preparing pulses(Pry1) are applied along a positive direction of a main electrode as a scan electrode between main electrode pairs. Then, second preparing pulses(Pry2) are applied along a negative direction of the main electrode between the main electrode pairs. During an address period(TA), a row is selected by applying scan pulses(Py) to the scan electrodes so that voltage level difference between the main electrodes in the selected row is greater than the maximum of voltage level difference between the main electrodes in the supplement of the second pulses. A part of the first and second preparing pulses applied between the main electrodes during the address preparing period is a step wave, which is varied according to time elapse.
