A system of monitoring winding state of a winding rod is provided to clearly check arrangement and winding state of the winding rod of a workpiece by removing disturbance due to ambient light. A system of monitoring winding state of a winding rod comprises a linear light source(102), an image acquisition unit(104) having a band path filter(104a), and an image processing unit(106). The linear light source irradiates laser beam to a measurement surface of a workpiece(100). The image acquisition unit allows laser beam of light reflected from the workpiece to pass through a lens, and obtains image data on the measurement surface, which is formed by laser beam. The image processing unit displays the image data in a three-dimensional image using an optical triangulation.
