发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve durability and life of still state by forming a thin film of a ferromagnetic metal in a partially peeled state on a nonmagnetic substrate so that the partially peeled part may exert reluxation of stress on a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Stearic acid is applied to the rear surface of a substrate 1 comprising for example polyethylene terephthalate film, and the film is wound by ca. 6kg tension and preserved for 3 days in an atmosphere at 50 deg.C, 60%RH. Then, slant vapor deposition with such as Co-Ni is performed in vacuum in the presence of trace amt. of O2 to the surface of the substrate 1 to form thin film 2 of a ferromagnetic metal. Partly peeled parts of 4 of the magnetic thin film are formed in the course of the prepn. of the thin film at the parts where stearic acid on the rear surface is partly transferred to the surface of the substrate during storage of the film. Such parts 4 contribute to exert reluxation of stress to the magnetic recording medium and improve the durability of drivability and the life of still state. Stearic acid salt may be used in place of stearic acid; aromatic polyamide film may be used also for the substrate. The drivability may be further improved by providing a lubricant layer 3 on the thin film 2.
