PURPOSE:To eliminate substantially the output power variation despite application of an intermittent load having large instantaneous power, by providing a power supply which generates the average power, an output voltage variation compensating power supply and a control circuit which stabilize the output voltage. CONSTITUTION:A thyristor 8 is turned on and the output of a voltage variation compensating power supply 9 is set at zero. Then a capacitor 7 is charged up to a presribed level of voltage by an average power supply 3, and the thyristor 8 is turned off. The power supply 9 is driven with control by a control circuit 11 so as to satisfy i2=i1C2/C1 between current i1 and i2 flowing to capacitors 7 and 7' respectively when an intermittent load 1 is actuated and a load current flows. In such a case, the output voltage has virtually no variation. Then the operation of the power supply 9 is stopped when the operation of the load 1 is over and an output current i0 is set at zero. Then the thyristor 8 is turned on and the capacitor 7' is discharged. At the same time, the capacitor 7 is charged again to prepare for the next load. |
