PURPOSE:To detect the state of the flow of pulverized material, by providing a detecting rod, which is pierced through the wall of a flow path and inserted, an AE sensor, which is stuck to the detecting rod, a judging device, which judges the output of said AE sensor, and a means, which applies vibration to the detecting rod. CONSTITUTION:When coal flowing within a tube wall 1 is rubbed with a detecting rod 2, ultrasonic waves are generated in the detecting rod 2, transmitted, and detected by an AE sensor 3. Meanwhile when the coal does not flow, the ultrasonic waves are not generated in the detecting rod 2. Therefore, the AE sensor 3 does not output any signal. The output of the AE sensor 3 is amplified by an amplifier 5 and judged by a judging device 7 through a filter 6. When a vibrator 4 is operated and the detecting rod 2 is vibrated, the ultrasonic waves are generated in the detecting rod 2 and detected by the AE sensor 3. When the tube is filled with the coal, the vibration of the detecting rod is immediately attenuated. Meanwhile, when there is no coal, the vibration in the detecting rod 2 is not easily attenuated. |
