PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer easily with a efficiency, by adding specific amounts of water and an organic acid to a specific organoaluminum compound before or after the reaction thereof with water, and suitable for molding fibers, etc. CONSTITUTION:After an organoaluminum compound of the formula (X and Y are H, alkyl or alkoxyl; R is organic group), e.g. diethylaluminum 3-ethoxypropionate, is reacted with water or before water is added thereto, water in a molar amount of 1.0-3.5 times of that of the above-mentioned organoaluminum compound and an organic acid, e.g. 3-ethoxypropionic acid, in a molar amount of 0.2-10 times of that of the above-mentioned organoaluminum compound are added and reacted therewith to give the aimed polymer.
