PURPOSE:To make a nonrigid wire electrode automatically feedable to the extent of the final stage of work without fail, by adding such a pipe as capable of guiding the wire electrode, to a winding mechanism, while feeding an internal pipe with compressed air. CONSTITUTION:Now, when a wire electrode 38 is snapped off, a pipe guide 36 keeping a state of stoppage by means of a plugging mechanism 29 is made to go up, discharging the remainder of the wire outside through a winding mechanism 74. Then, the pipe guide 36 is shifted onto the same axis of a cutting start hole 12a for a work 10 and made to go down so as to come into contact with an electrode guide 72, and under this condition, when the wire 38 is fed, the tip end is nipped between a belt 76d and a roller 76b and fed to a guide pipe 79f. At this time, air is fed out of a compressor 200 whereby the tip end is securely guided to a position where it should be without receiving any frictional resistance and rolled round by the winding mechanism 74. Next, the pipe guide 36 once goes up and then back to the snapped spot without making discharge in the manner of the existing cutting process, starting the discharge again. Thus automatic feed for the wire electrode comes possible to be done. |
