PCT No. PCT/JP82/00017 Sec. 371 Date Sep. 9, 1982 Sec. 102(e) Date Sep. 9, 1982 PCT Filed Jan. 18, 1982 PCT Pub. No. WO82/02591 PCT Pub. Date Aug. 5, 1982.A hot-wire flowmeter includes a hot wire heated pulsatively for heating a fluid being measured, and a thermosensitive detector located downstream of the hot wire for detecting the heated fluid. The hot wire is heated again in response to an output signal from the detector with the result that the hot wire is periodically heated at a rate that is dependent on the speed of flow of the fluid. The rate of flow of the fluid can be derived from the rate at which the hot wire is periodically heated.
