PURPOSE:Conjugated fibers, obtained by conjugate spinning, consisting of a polyester as a core component and a polyphenylene sulfide as a sheath component at a specific surface area ratio of the sheath component in the cross section thereof, and having improved heat and chemical resistance. CONSTITUTION:Conjugated fibers consisting of (A) a polyester consisting of polyethylene terephthalate, etc. as a core component and (B) >=80wt% polyphenylene sulfide as a sheath component at 0.05-0.4, preferably 0.1-0.3 surface area ratio of the sheath component [component (B)] R=B/(A+B) in the cross section thereof.
