VINYL ACETATE POLYMER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having a long open time and excellent water resistance and low-temperature stability, by blending a propylene glycol mixture with an org. solvent soln. of a vinyl acetate polymer. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. is obtd. by blending 0.05-10wt% mixture consisting of propylene glycol monostearate (A) and a monoacetylated propylene glycol monostearate (B) in a molar ratio of A to B of 90/10-50/50 with an org. solvent soln. of a vinyl acetate polymer. The addition of component A alone can impart excellent performance in respect of water resistance and elongation of an open time to the vinyl acetate polymer compsn., but the low-temperature stability is not sufficient. By adding component B, a satisfactory low-temperature stability can be obtd.
