A vacuum belt filter apparatus is proposed which serves to purify cooling lubricants. In order to arrange the removal of the used filter web (12) at the end of the vacuum belt filter apparatus as simply as possible, a deflection roller (21) is provided for the filter web, which deflection roller is driven by a back-pressure roller (22), a collective drive (20) being provided both for the scraper chain (18) and for the deflection roller (21) and thus for the filter web (12) (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
