The work table with restricted-guidance, lockable lifting device for lifting and lowering a household electric tool serves to speed up readiness for use and to simplify the storage of household tools. The restricted guidance facilitates manual lifting and lowering and precise locking of the household tool in the working position. The table-top is removable and can be mounted laterally on the work table as an extended work surface. The work table is usable as such when the household tool is in the rest position. A plurality of work tables can be put together and firmly connected to one another to form larger units, depending on the space available.
