Device for controlling self-propelled agricultural machines which contains a pumping station (1) which is connected to the pressure line of a metering pump (10) and of a directional control valve (9), connected thereto, of a remote control unit (7), in which the outflow line is connected to the pressure space of the directional control valve (22) of a follow-up system (21) of the automatic control and to the braking element (23) of a telescopic return connecting rod (24). The telescopic connecting rod (24) is kinematically connected to the directional control valve (22), the keys (37) and the power cylinder (32) of the steered wheels (33) of the machine by means of levers (35, 36, 34). The control lines of the power cylinder (32) are connected to a means for changing the direction of the flow of the fluid, which means are designed as a two-way two-position valve (12) which is connected via control inputs to the pressure line and the outflow line of the metering pump (10) and of the directional control valve (9) and in one of the positions which corresponds to the operating state of the remote control connects this outflow line to the container (2) of the pumping station (1). <IMAGE>
