In summary it can be stated that the exhaust gas purifier according to the invention in question highly substantially frees motor vehicle exhaust gases from all pollutants, but without having the disadvantages which would accompany the introduction of lead-free petrol and the use of catalysts. A further, considerable advantage of the invention in question is the circumstance that the exhaust gas purifier can be installed into every motor vehicle already in operation and is fully functional completely independently of the age of the vehicle or of its mileage. An improvement of the efficiency of the relevant motor vehicle engine is even possible if a turbo charger is driven by the fan turbine and, on top of everything, improved combustion is achieved by the turbo charging. As a result, the pollutant content is considerably reduced even upstream of the exhaust gas purifier. The production costs of exhaust gas purifier plus the turbo charger are substantially lower than the production costs of a turbo charger of the conventional type. Only the metal wool packing and ammonium chloride packing have to be changed at certain intervals (approximately every 10000 km). Even this is no dearer than the changing of an oil filter and could be undertaken at about every oil change. The exhaust gas purifier according to the invention in question is also very substantially insensitive to fouling with soot and overheating.
