PURPOSE:To prevent the life of a motor from being shortened and save electric power by inhibiting the motor from being rotated by a motor ON signal unless a floppy disk is loaded. CONSTITUTION:When a floppy disk 3 is inserted while a power source is turned on, that is detected by an index hold detector 14 to generate a low-level index signal IN. Consequently, a driving signal M is outputted from an OUT port 25 and the motor 11 is driven. Consequently, a disk 3 is fitted around a spindle 5 smoothly. When the motor ON signal MON is inputted to an IN port 24 while no disk is inserted, the output of the signal M is stopped immediately by an index check even if the signal M is outputted by a motor signal check, and a motor flag MOTF stays at ''1'' thereafter to stop the operation of the motor 11. Thus, the life of the motor is prevented from being shortened and electric power is saved. |
