PURPOSE:To automatically regulate the shoe gap of a drum brake by a simple structure in which a ratchet claw is provided to the pressure-receiving end of a piston, and a ratchet tooth shaped into a ratchet rod having a pressure-receiving face is coupled with the ratchet claw. CONSTITUTION:An automatic regulator 10 for shoe gap is made up a ratchet rod 22 having ratchet teeth 22a inserted into a hole 16b provided on the pressure receiving face of the piston 17 of a wheel cylinder 12 ad a pressure-receivend 22b, a ratchet claw 24 sprung so as to engage with the ratchet teeth 22a of the rod 22, and a stopper 26 matched with the pressure- receiving face 22b of the rod 22 attached to a cylinder body 14. A ratchet releaser 34 is formed of a ratchet releasing rod 36 piercing through the piston 16 and the ratchet claw 24 in parallel with the axis of the piston. |
