<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the lead-in time of a running control servo system for a magnetic tape by detecting which area a tape stop position is in on the basis of the comparison output between two pilot signals and the switching signal of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Two pilot signals in a reproduced signal from a reproducing means are supplied to a signal level detecting circuit 30 to detect the levels of the two pilot signals, separately. A comparator 9 compares the levels of the two input signals with each other, and outputs a high-level or low-level signal according to the comparison result. A detection signal output circuit 40 detects which of areas obtained by dividing one period by track pitch the stop position of the tape is in on the basis of the comparison result between the levels of the two pilot signals and the switching signal of the magnetic head. Consequently, the lead-in time of the servo system is shortened.</p> |
