发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a high-performance magnetic recording medium having high residual magnetism and high coercive force in a magnetization direction by dispersing fine particles of a magnetic alloy consisting of yttrium and rare earth element as well as a transition metal in a binder and subjecting the same to a magnetic field orientation thereby manufacturing a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:An alloy obtd. by subjecting a cast ingot obtd. by melting the compsn. expressed by the formula (R is yttrium and rare earth element and T is a transition metal) system, for example, Sm1 (Co0.65Fe0.22Cu0.11Zr0.01)7.25 in a high frequency furnace kept under an Ar atmosphere to a soln. heat treatment for 5hr at 1,180 deg.C and cooling the ingot at 1 deg.C/sec after aging for 30min at 750 deg.C is ground to obtain fine particles of the magnetic alloy. The fine particles of the magnetic alloy obtd. in such a way has uniaxial magnetic anisotropy and the high residual magnetizm and the high coersive force in the magnetization direction are obtd. without the need for making particularly the particles needlelike and therefore the particles are subjected to a magnetic field orientation and a magnetic layer is formed by a coating method, by which the vertically magnetized or horizontally magnetized film having high performance is obtd.
