PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and simple transfer paper feed starting device by providing one switching means and a counter means. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 23 is attached to a mirror carriage 20. According as the carriage 20 runs, plural slits 23a-23c cut on the encoder 23 pass the optical path, which is narrowed by a slit 24', from a light emitting element 24. The output of a photodetector 25 is counted by a counter in accordance with passage of slits, and the counter 26 outputs a code corresponding to a counted number. A code comparator 28 compares the code corresponding to the counted number with a corresponding code from a code converter 27; and if they coincide with each other, the comparator 28 outputs an output signal to a transfer paper feed starting mechanism 29. By this signal, the feed starting mechanism 29 feeds a transfer paper synchronously with the speed of a photosensitive body. Thus, the trouble of adjustment is reduced considerably. |
