PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality having superior resolving power by allowing a dry toner in a developer for start and the volume resistance of the whole of a toner for replenishment to have specific relation. CONSTITUTION:The developer for start obtained by mixing a magnetic carrier and the dry toner is brought into contact with an electrostatic latent image carrying face 6, and a toner 8 for replenishment is supplied in accordance with the quantity of the dry toner consumed by development. In this case, the relation of 10<13=R2<=R1/10 is kept when the volume resistance of the dry toner in the developer for start and the volume resistance of the whole of the toner 8 are denoted as R1(OMEGA.cm) and R2(OMEGA.cm) respectively. As the result, high-quality copied matters superior in resolving power where a brush mark, photographic fog of ground texture, and edge effect are not generated are obtained. |
