PURPOSE:To provide the titled rubber composition giving a vulcanized product having high compression modulus and improved heat-generating characteristics, and suitable as a material of tire, by compounding a specific reinforced rubber composition and other component at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition giving a vulcanized product having a 100% tensile modulus (M100) of 20-60kg/cm<2> can be prepared by compounding (A) a reinforced rubber composition composed of (i) 100pts.wt. of a vulcanizable rubber and (ii) 5-100pts.wt. of fine short fibers of a thermoplastic polymer having -CONH- group in the polymer molecule and embedded in the component (i), wherein said polymer and said vulcanizable rubber are grafted with each other at the interface of said fiber through the precondensate of a phenol-formaldehyde resin, (B) a natural rubber, polyisoprene, or their mixture, (C) a diene rubber other than natural rubber and polyisoprene, and (D) carbon black. The amount of the polymer is 1-15pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the rubber component, the sum of the ruber components is 100-50wt%, and the amount of the component (D) is 20-33pts.wt.
