PURPOSE:To enable to record a large amount of information consisting of both magnetic information and visible information, by providing a thin non-magnetic film layer as a thermal recording layer on a magnetic recording layer provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium is constituted of the magnetic recording layer 3 provided on a sheet form or plate form base 2 and the thin non-magnetic film layer 4 provided thereon as a thermal recording layer. The non-magnetic film layer 4 is formed from a metal, an alloy thereof or a compound of a metal. Since the thermal and magnetic recording medium thus obtained has the magnetic recording layer and the thermal recording layer consisting of the thin non- magnetic film layer, both magnetic information and visible information can be recorded on the medium, and a large amount of information can be recorded. |
