PURPOSE:To improve dust collecting efficiency by providing plural dust precipitating electrodes on the side opposite from electric discharge electrodes via a perforated plate and providing a potential difference between the opposed dust precipitating electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The 1st dust precipitating electrodes 4A, 4B and the 2nd dust collecting electrodes 5A, 5B, 5C are disposed alternately at equal intervals on the side of electric discharge electrodes 1A, 1B facing a metallic screen 3 of a perforated plate. The electrodes 4A, 4B provided oppositely to the electrodes 1A, 1B and are connected to a high voltage device 2 and the 2nd dust collecting electodes 5A, 5B, 5C are grounded. Then negative ions move from the electrodes 1A, 1B toward the screen 3 and the air is sucked to the screen 3, by which the dust therein is captured, but when the dust passes the screen, the dust is admitted between the electrodes 4 and 5 and is captured on the 2nd electrode 5 side. The efficient dust collection is thus accomplished by the double capturing.
