PURPOSE:To minimize the degree of a depression on a positive pellet and increase the liquid-leakage resistance of a button-type alkaline manganese battery by causing the outer circumference area of the positive pellet to have an increased strength when it swells by making the clearance between a positive can and the positive pellet small. CONSTITUTION:The difference between the inner diameter of a positive can and the outer diameter of a positive pellet is adjusted to within 0.2mm.. When a positive pellet 2a having an outer diameter of phi1 is placed on the inner surface of the bottom of a positive can 1 having an inner diameter of phi0 after 35% KOH used as electrolyte is poured in the positive can 1, the positive pellet 21 is impregnated with the electrolyte and swells thereby coming in very close contact with the positive can 1. As a result, the outer circumference area of the positive pellet 2a strongly pushes the inner circumference area of the positive can 1 thereby exhibiting an increased strength. By optimizing the clearance between the inner diameter (phi0) of the positive can 1 and the outer diameter (phi1) of the positive pellet 2a, the degree (d1) of a depression can be minimized. Besides, any cutting or breakage of a separator 3 is prevented and the liquid-leakage resistance can be maintained favorably. |
