PURPOSE:To provide a type belt type multicolor printer inexpensive and simple in construction, wherein the circumference of an ink roller for supplying inks by making rolling contact with a type belt is divided into a plurality of color regions. CONSTITUTION:In the printer, the type belt 3 fitted between pulleys 1, 2 is driven by a motor 4, an ink is supplied to types by the ink roller 13, the kind of the type located at a hammer position 7 is detected by a slit encoder 5 provided at the pulley, and when a desired type comes to the hammer position, the motor 4 is stopped, and the hammer 7 is operated, thereby printing. In said printer, the ink roller 13 is divided into a plurality of regions, and the regions are impregnated respectively with different color inks so that an ink of the same color is constantly supplied to each of corresponding regions of the type belt. |
