PURPOSE:To stabilize industrially advantageously the titled substance useful as a virucide, a carcinostatic agent, having low reduction in biological activity during its use, by adding an inorganic salt such as sodium chloride, etc. harmless to organisms, as a stabilizer, to interferon. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic salt such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, etc. as a stabilizer is added to interferon, to give stabilized interferon having no reduction in biological activity during its use. An amount of the inorganic salt added is 1X10<-11>-10X10<-11>mol based on 1 unit of interferon, and this method is applicable to interferon of any type of alpha, beta, and gamma, such as natural interferon, culture of animal cell, culture of microorganism by DNA technique, etc.
