PURPOSE:The titled drug for external use obtained by incorporating interferon as an active constituent with a specific surgar alcohol and an organic acid buffer agent. CONSTITUTION:A drug for external use for treating mycosis of the skin and mucous membrane obtained by incorporating interfereon as an active constituent with one or two or more of tri- or polyhydric sugar alcohol, e.g. glycerol, erythritol, arabitol or xylitol, in an amount of 15% or more, preferably 25-70% based on the total weight, and an organic acid buffer agent, e.g. a mixture of monosodium citrate with disodium citrate, in an amount of 0.01mol/kg or more, preferably 0.1mol/kg or more based on the total weight, and adjusting the pH to 3-6. The dose thereof is 10-10<8> international units interferon per administration unit (one time).
