Numbers (numerals or letters) are pressed in for the purpose of numbering or identifying soft contact lenses. The numbers can consist of a multiplicity of points. They can be pressed in using a single diamond whose tip is round and polished. The tearing strength of the lens is thereby maintained. Their compatibility is not reduced.
