A telephone station (1) consisting of a baseplate (2) and a receptacle (3), detachably connected thereto, for the operating devices. Compared with known stations, greater protection against being broken open is to be achieved by simple measures. For this purpose, the receptacle (3), which is pivotably connected to the baseplate (2) via a bracket (9) and carries the operating devices, is designed to be pot-shaped. The two parts (2, 3) are connected via latching elements (15) attached to the baseplate (2), behind which latching elements pins (20) arranged on the inside of the receptacle (3) and pointing towards one another engage. The connection is finally secured by a lock. Due to the round shape and the type of latching and securing, greater protection against forced opening by unauthorised persons can be achieved in telephone stations, particularly in publicly accessible stations. <IMAGE>
