NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R<1> and R<2> are lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:2,4-Bis[bis(isopropoxycarbonyl)methylene]-1,3-dithietane. USE:A remedy for hepatic diseases. PREPARATION:A compound [e.g., disodium 2,2-bis(isopropoxycarbonyl)ethylene- 1,1-dithiolate, etc.] shown by the formula II (M is alkali metal) is reacted in the presence of a dimerizing agent such as pivaloyl chloride, etc. in an inert solvent (e.g., THF, etc.) at -20 deg.C- the boiling point of the solvent.
